Hi all…Letsallblog.com is for sale. I recently received an email through a contact form requesting to purchase but I had no return email address. If that was you or you are interested in purchasing, email: main@letsallblog.com

I decided to not go further with this experiment and spend my time with my first blog…

The early days of this blog (prior to the official launch date) were intended to gain subscribers that could follow along from the beginning of this journey. The blog is now 6 days old and I am learning that the old saying”content is king” is truer than ever. I believe we have approximately 10 subscribers, attained mainly through v7n and forums.digitalpoint.com. While this is a great start for such a young blog, I believe it is time for more post, in order to get more visitors. Thanks to Niche Blogs’ comment on my first post that convinced me that posting more will be the best way to get more subscribers. “TheOfficial” echoed Niche Blogs sentiment as well. Since this is a blogocracy I feel inclined to oblige. The entire list of everything done so far for promotion can be found at “What We’ve Done”, but I would like to talk in a little more detail about what I have learned in this short time.
The first large promotional step I took was to issue a press release (per subscriber comments). I went to google and typed in “free press release”, there were over 27 million results. The first result was free-press-release.com. I went to free press release and completed the full sign up process and then wrote my press release. I did not see anything about not placing active links within the press release so I peppered it with letsallblog links. I submitted the press release and within minutes it was indexed by Google. I clicked on it in my Google results and was upset to see that all the links had been made inactive. So, it was back to the drawing board. Next I signed up for prlog.org. I went through the same type of email verification sign up process and then wrote essentially the same press release. The prlog press release was also indexed within minutes and unlike free-press-release.com, prlog had active links. As of today, if you type in letsallblog.com in Google, the first result is a prlog.org result. You can view the final press release HERE. While I have not seen any traffic from the press release, I believe it hastened the indexing of letsallblog, so I am very satisfied with prlog.org.
Other Updates:
The poll in the last post appears to be leaning towards search engine submissions as the concentration area, so over the last few days, that is what I have been doing. I have submitted to Yahoo, Google and MSN. I also submitted to many other smaller search engines.
In addition to search engine submissions, I submitted to bloggeries.com and blogexplosion.com I have seen 5 unique visitors from those two sources, as of today. I have seen 13 unique visitors from forum posting, I may search for more blogging forums as this seems to be some of the higher producing links so far.
I stated on the Milestones page that we were indexed by Google on 12/09/08. I now see that we are not indexed in Google anymore…Very strange!
I am still trying to add a “shoutbox” in the sidebar but have not come across a plugin that works correctly.
Discussion:
I am considering making the blog comments “dofollow”. What do you all feel are the benefits and or pitfalls of doing this? In short, should we do it? Will the increase in site traffic offset pagerank issues?
How could we encourage links from other blogs? Any innovative ideas or strategies that may work?
Thanks to all who have have contributed their expertise and blogging experience. I am more excited than ever to see where this goes!

Welcome to letsallblog.com. I guess the first question you may be asking is, “what is this”? Letsallblog is an idea I had while looking through some of the blogging forums reading about the tremendous success of some blogs and the terrible demise of others. I thought to myself, would’nt it be great to see a blog go from its inception to two, three or even four years out. Or, from inception to complete failure. I think a lot could be learned watching a blog go through all the trials and tribulations that many other sites go through but that you never hear about. That is where letsallblog.com comes in. I call it a blogocracy because I will be soliciting the opinion of the blogging community on almost every decision. I will then report back the success or the failure of each action taken.
Before I go further into the details of letsallblog, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a financial analyst working for a large insurance company. I crunch numbers and down coffee all day. I have a daughter and a son on the way. I am very new to blogging (3 months). I have a Microsoft Excel blog where I provide tips and trick for Excel users. That blog is only 3 months old and is not “lighting up the world”. I am going to try to forget most of the things I have learned on my other blog and instead turn to the blog community for guidance on letsallblog.
I have done a few things on the site to get the ball rolling. The complete list of everything I do can be found on the What We’ve Done page. I registered letsallblog.com yesterday (12/07/2008) through godaddy.com. I set up a deluxe hosting account so that I could host both my sites. I set up the “blog stats” section in the sidebar on the left. Here you will find the crucial site statistics and we will all be able to see the impact of the decisions we make. I signed up for Google analytics to track the visitiors to the site, you can view that info at:

I am going to delay regular posting until 01/03/2009. In the mean time I am going to attempt to promote the blog and get as many subscribers as possible before that date so they can follow along on this blog-journey (I know, cheesy right?). I posted a poll below on how you think we should concentrate our blog promoting efforts until 01/03/2009.
